Evolutionary Algorithms Course
Evolutionary Algorithms Course -Summary
Third short-term course on Evolutionary Optimization Algorithms was jointly organized by Center for advanced Research in Evolutionary Computation and EEE Department during 19-24, November 2007 by Dr. S.BASKAR, Professor, and EEE Department. The course was inaugurated by Dr. V.Abhaikumar principal, TCE, Madurai , introduced by Dr. P.S.Kannan, Dean (Student affairs) function and welcome address was given by Dr. S.Mary Raja Slochannal, HDEE on 19th November 2007 at EEE Seminar Hall .
Twenty five external participants from various industries and institutions and fifteen internal participants attended the course. There were about 25-hours theory and 15-hours practical sessions.
Participants got exposure in fundamentals of optimization techniques, Genetic Algorithm, Particle Swarm Optimization, Differential Evolution and MATLAB coding for Evolutionary algorithms.
The valedictory function was conducted on 24th November 2007, Certificates were distributed by Dr. P.S.Kannan and Dr. S.Mary Raja Slochannal and Course coordinator Dr S.BASAKR proposed the vote of thanks.
