QUEST: AN OVERVIEW
Quest is the most loving, interschool extravaganza and the idea of this cultural fiesta was initiated in the year 1997, marking the 50th year of our independence. It was a brainwave caught up on a discussion by our Dean Dr. R. Vasudevan along with two students of our college. The motive of this event is making the young minds aware about the importance of the traditional and moral values of our country. It started with the theme "Patriotism" followed by "Madurai-2010", "Environmental Awareness", "Vision 2020", "Water and Energy Conservation", "PAVE" and many such inspiring themes.
More than 3000 students from nearly 100 schools participate in the programme each year. The programme consists of several events like cultural, technical, arts, etc., based on the theme. The young students are really bringing wonderful ideas and thoughts. It's a pleasure to be associated with the programme. Every year this programme is organized and conducted by the III year students of our college under the guidance of Staff members of our College Cultural Association and final year students. This paves way for leadership qualities, organizing ability, team building and unity among students.
Quest-2011 encompasses itself on the theme "SEARCH FOR INNOVATION" and it is to be held on 30th of July, Saturday. We have already extended our invitation to more than 500 schools in and around Madurai and neighbouring districts. Their response is highly encouraging. This year we expect more participants for the programme. It calls for all the young and unpolluted minds who have pledged to make the development of our nation .These events have been scheduled for all levels of students,right from LKG to 12th standard. The events planned will kindle the students' artistic sense, along with an array of special events guaranteed to thrill and bring a flurry of ideas from the future pillars of our country.
Thus QUEST-2011 under the able guidance and benevolence of the Chairman and Correspondent Thiru Karumuttu T.Kannan and spirited leadership of the Principal of the College Dr.V.Abhai Kumar is going to be a real day out for all inquisitive young minds which will create a platform for the rural and the urban students to compete and develop unity.
