TCE Alumni e-Newsletter

VOL 2 - ISSUE 3

Principal's Message

TCE is bringing a real-world perspective to the academic pursuits of the students and the faculty. Individually and collectively, you as Alumni, are the measure of our success and the foundation of our future. I invite the Alumni to provide feedback and support our College in a way that best suits them.
TCE plays an important role in ensuring the connection between student and the Alumni to educate them ahead of their graduation about the value and honour of being a TCE alumnus. TCE requires adequate funding for creating corpus to support student scholarships and other activities to have an effective Alumni relations program. TCE connects Alumni to the college and to each other, builds traditions, fosters student and Alumni leadership and serves the diverse needs and interests of our society.

I sincerely thank you all for your contributions to enrich the lives of the students by helping them to establish lifelong, meaningful and valued relationships with TCE and its Alumni. I congratulate the Editors and all the people who have contributed to shape this newsletter in the best possible manner.

Alumni Mentorship

As part of Alumni support to the present students, the Alumni Mentorship program has been restructured. In the proposed program, Alumni will mentor the students in respect of Higher Studies, Competitive exams (GATE/GRE/TOEFEL/CAT/GMAT/IELTS), Programming Skills, Industry Supported Projects, Placement, Entrepreneurship, Civil Services Exam and Public Speaking/ Presentation skills.

In this program, one Alumni will mentor 3 students in a chosen area (eg: Higher Studies). Many of the Alumni have expressed their consent to spend one hour per week as per their convenience. We have identified sub topics for discussion in each area. It is also proposed to organize induction program for both the Mentors and Mentees. The Mentoring process is to be supported by the Tutors in each department.

So far 178 Alumni have expressed their willingness to Mentor the students and 530 students have opted for getting mentored. We believe that this new avenue of collaboration would result in greater synergy and growth. We look forward to see more and more Alumni joining in the mentors panel and many more students getting benefitted. Interested Alumni may use the willingness form given below.
