Promoting Interdisciplinary learning
Effective implementation of Outcome Based Education (OBE) in Conceive-Design-Implement-Operate (CDIO) framework with standardization of procedures for assessment of Programme Outcomes (PO), Programme Specific Outcomes (PSO) and Course Outcomes (CO).
The objective is met with systematic procedure for the curriculum development by duly addressing the local, regional, national, and global needs with POs, PSOs and COs. The process of formulating vision, mission, PEO, PO and Courses are illustrated with flowcharts.
Need analysis with the feedback obtained from the external and internal stakeholders including employers, industry experts, academicians of Higher Learning institutions, alumni, faculty members and students
Identification of Professional societies relevant to the engineering discipline and understanding the requirements stated by them
Identification of requirements by comparing the existing syllabus with AICTE model curriculum and Anna University Regulations
Department level communication and discussion on the consolidated review of existing syllabus and changes to be made
Identification of courses offered in Science & Humanities
Identification of common courses across different programmes (CDIO courses, programming courses, audit courses)
Department level meeting(s) for identification of Course outcomes and first draft of course schedule
Formulation of scheduling of courses including 1st semester
Course design, review, and refinements with several department level meetings
Setting of expected attainment levels of COs and POs for all the courses
Consolidation of curriculum refinements according to the prescribed template
Conduct of Board of Studies
Refining curriculum based on the inputs given by BoS members and submitting for approval in Academic Council
Refining curriculum based on the inputs given in Academic Council meeting
Submission of approved syllabus to appropriate authority and dissemination of the same to the stake holders
Flowcharts for curriculum development including establishment of vision, mission, PEO, POs and COs are formulated and presented.
Industry supported courses with COs mapped to POs and PSOs to address global needs
Identification of courses in NPTEL enabling credit transfer and enabling students to take online courses in other platforms like coursera, edX.
TCE Online courses with credit transfer with COs mapped to POs and PSOs to address the need of multidisciplinary learning (www.tce.edu/tce-mooc )
Development of local and regional level courses following the guidelines of the state government and central government
Student participation in Mini courses and seminars on cross cutting technologies offered by academic forums and industries
Faculty orientation programmes organized every year
In-house workshops on OBE and CDIO frameworks and innovative pedagogical techniques
Specific workshops on Online teaching during Pandemic period
External training programmes including IIEECP, Online Teaching, IITB for enhancing teaching skills
Faculty conclaves to share best practices in curriculum development, content delivery and assessment
Educational conferences such as International conference on Transformations in Engineering Education organized by IUCEE and Technology 4 Education organized IIT Bombay
