Overview:
Mechanical Engineering Association is a collaborative team of staff and students working rigorously to dissipate the essential needs and aspects of mechanical sciences to its student members through various innovative activities, workshops, lectures, and study help programs. Throughout these years the team has positively contributed to enriching the technical skills among its students through a widescope of interesting junctures providing them with a great opportunity to learn and apply their learned skills.
Machine mail is our Department’s official magazine edited and presented by a team of skilled MEA members. This magazine portrays our Department’s austerity in various domains including technical articles, art, craft, sports, and social service along with our staff accomplishments. For this academic year, we will be releasing 2 different versions under the same banner.
To increase, the enthusiasm and competitiveness among the students we have divided the entire department into 4 teams namely Carina, Orion, Draco, and Bellatrix. Points will be awarded to the teams based on participation and the number of winners. The team with the highest point at the end of the academic year will be awarded with a trophy.

As every year, in the academic year 2024-25 MEA has organized various events such as,
1. Quality Quest - Test for knowledge on quality control tools.
2. Knowledge Knockout - Quiz competition exclusively for 1st years.
3. Pixel Brain - Visual puzzle solving contest inspired from mechanical concept.
4. Desin Nexus - A project presentation for II year students.
5. Strawcture - Novel bridge building contest using straws, where structures are tested based on their strength and complexity.
6. Career Scope Talk - A talk from students placed in various industries in the year 2024-25 regarding the industrial expectations and preparations for the same.
7. Lateral Entry Orientation - A talk from the current lateral entry students on how to bridge the gap between practical training and education creating success stories.
This year MOBIUS 2K25 national level technical symposium of Mechanical Department has turned out as a big conjucture for the collaboration of technical and idea-based thought processes for future mechanics. We have organized 4 workshops based on 3D printing, robotics, R&AC, and automobile domains. In addition to this, we covered a diverse spectrum event namely Ignition Insight-quiz competition, Reverse CAD, Kinekraft, & Project Expo. We had 180 participants, participating from 20 different institutions across Tamilnadu.
